Let’s start outside the box with the Altenew 3D Terrarium Die. This was a cute little thing to make. I am going to set it on my desk at work. It is a little time consuming the first time you make it with acetate. If you use acetate, you’ll definitely need a strong clear adhesive. Otherwise it will come apart.

  1. Stamp the rose using the Vintage Roses stamp set. I stamped it using the Altenew Spring Bouquet Inks.
  2. Die cut the rose using the Vintage Roses coordinating die set.
  3. Die cut the frame using gold mirror yardstick and the Altenew 3D Terrarium Die.
  4. Die cut the enclosure pieces using thick acetate and the Altenew 3D Terrarium Die.
  5. Fold the acetate pieces and adhere the panels together using a strong double-sided adhesive. Leave the bottom open.
  6. Put the stamped rose inside the bottom of the terrarium, then add the bottom panel to fully close it.
  7. Add the gold frame pieces to the top of the acetate.

Next, let’s get into these simple roller skate cards! For these, I just used heavyweight 130lb black and white cardstock.

  1. For two of the cards, I used 130lb black cardstock cut to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. For these cards, I also cut a base panel of Altenew Brushed Copper foil cardstock cut to 4 x 5.25 inches. Then, for the mat panel, I cut it out of black cardstock to 3.5 x 4.75 inches.
  2. One of the panels I had already created in bulk using the Altenew Color Block Triangle Stencil and ink blended these colors from the Altenew inks: Peach, Vanilla, Warm Sunshine, Frayed Leaf, Mountain Mist, Lavender Fields, and Pink Diamond.
  3. On the black mat panels, I rubbed an antistatic powder over the middle of it.
  4. Using versamark ink and the Altenew Vintage Vibes sentiment, I stamped the “Let the good times roll” sentiment on the black card panels. For the colorful geometric background, stamp it using Altenew Permanent Black Ink.
  5. Pour white embossing powder over the versamark ink, then heat set it.
  6. Adhere the mats to the card bases.
  7. Using white cardstock, stamp the roller skate solid stamp two times with versamark ink, two times with Altenew Volcano Lake Ink, then two times with Altenew Fuchsia Ink.
  8. Using a black glitter embossing powder, pour over the versamark stamped images and heat set.
  9. Stamp the wheels on two of the cards using Altenew Lime ink. On the other card, stamp the wheels in Altenew Dusk Ink.
  10. Stamp the skate laces, bases, and the centers of the wheels in Altenew Permanent Black Ink.
  11. For the skates with the Lime wheels, stamp the leaves using the Altenew Lime Ink. Stamp the leaves for the blue wheels using Altenew Dusk Ink.
  12. For all of the flowers, stamp the base with Altenew Baby Pink Ink.
  13. For four of the flowers, stamp the shading using Altenew Rose Gold Pigment Ink. Use Altenew Rich Razzleberry Ink for the shading on the other two flowers.
  14. Die cut all six skates using the coordinating die set and adhere two to each card using foam dimensional tape.
  15. Add sequins or gems to the card for added interest to finish the card.

My final card was completely different since I wanted to use more die cutting on it. Here’s how I made it.

  1. Cut a top folding cardbase to 4.25 x 5.5 inches.
  2. Cut a mat from blue vellum to 3.75 x 5.5 inches. Adhere to the center of the card.
  3. Using the Altenew Ornate Door die, die cut it using gold foil mirror cardstock.
  4. Cut a piece of navy cardstock to fit the size of the door die cut and adhere the gold foil die cut on top of the navy cardstock.
  5. Use foam dimensional tape on the back of the door frame and adhere to the center of the card base.
  6. Stamp the “Happy” sentiment from the Altenew Pomegranate stamp set on white cardstock using Altenew Puffy Heart Ink.
  7. Fussy cut Happy and adhere to the middle of the gold door.
  8. The “Birthday” is actually letter pressed using the Spellbinders Happy Birthday LetterPress Plate and I inked it with Altenew Puffy Heart Ink.
  9. Using Altenew Charming Foliage Die set, die cut the leaves from two shades of green cardstock. I chose a light and a dark.
  10. Then, die cut the roses from four different shades of pink cardstock.
  11. Using the Altenew Charming Foliage layering guide, glue the leaves and flowers together.
  12. Glue the longer thinner leaves to the card base. Use dimensional foam dots to pop up the leaves and flowers and adhere to the bottom center of the card.
  13. Add a few sparkling gems around the card to finish it.

This card took a little more time with the layering dies, but I enjoy the details of it to create a beautiful flower.
