Let’s get into the details of this vibrant card! I loved making it! Since the theme was our favorite colors, I love the look of vibrant colors on a black cardstock. I love pinks and golds, so when I designed this card, I used the Altenew Jumbo Garden Layering Dies. I actually did not use all of the gradient colors, but instead chose the colors from the pink and wine colored family and meshed those together to create my own gradient rose. I loved how it turned out.
- Take a full sheet of white card stock and ink it up with your chosen color shades. For my flowers, I chose Altenew Rose Quartz, Altenew Tickled Pink, Altenew Purple Wine, Altenew Cosmic Berry, Altenew Tangerine Dream, and Delicata Gold Pigment Ink. For the leaves, I used Altenew Shadow Creek, and Altenew Mountain Pine.
- Once I let the ink dry, I used the largest flower from this die set and cut the sections of color I needed from my inked card stock. The darkest color will be your base and the largest die. The lightest color will be your top highlight and one of the smaller dies.
- After die cutting the flowers and leaves, I used the layering guide on the back of the die set to glue each layer together with liquid glue. You can also match up the layering pieces fairly easy without referring to the layering guide.
- On black cardstock, I stamped the Hi sentiment from the Altenew Hello Friend Sentiment Stamp set in embossing ink. I poured gold embossing powder over it and heat set it.
- Die cut the Hi sentiment using the coordinating Hello Friend Die set. Also die cut 4 more round circles to glue on the back of this sentiment to make it sturdy.
- Cut a black cardstock panel to 3.5 x 5.5 inches and glue to the card base. My card base is made out of 130lb heavyweight black cardstock cut and scored to 4.25 x 5.5 inches (A2 sized card).
- Cut two strips of glitter card stock and glue on either side of the center panel.
- Start layering leaves and glue these to the panel.
- Glue the small yellow flowers before adhering the large pink flowers. I used a pencil to trace an outline of where the flowers would go so that when I picked up the pieces to put glue or foam tape, I was able to put it back in the correct spot on the card.
- Put foam tape on the back of the large pink flowers and place on the left side of the card.
- Add foam tape to the Hi sentiment and place slightly on the tips of the pink flowers.
- Add three iridescent sequins around the card.
The longes part of the card was die cutting and gluing the pieces together. I enjoy doing these details. It makes the flowers come to life and almost jump off the card stock. I hope you enjoyed this card! If you are interested in some of the crafting products, please see the ones listed below. As always, I can’t thank you enough for your support! Happy crafting!
