Welcome back for another day of crafting with Altenew Educators for this fun YouTube hop + giveaway! Today, our theme is Focal Point. I had so much fun playing with texture and products on this card. I loved how it turned out to be a vibrant focal point! The colors are bright and happy and the texture makes this card feel luxurious! There are some beautiful cards in this hop! Watch all the video for the full visual tutorial. Most products used for my card are linked below. Thank you for your support!
Also, watch the videos from each educator participating in the hop! Leave a comment on each educator’s video for a chance to win one of the Altenew Giveaway gift cards. They are giving away three $20 gift cards and four $15 gift cards. Altenew will post the winners on their Instagram. Most products used for my card are linked below.
I started with a 5×7 card base and cut a panel to 5×7 out of heavyweight cardstock. You will need to use a heavier cardstock with using this much relief paste to ensure it is sturdy.
- Use the flourishing coral stencil and amethyst shimmering relief paste. Since the stencil is only 6×6, I had to match up the design and move it down to put paste on the bottom portion. Set aside to dry.
- Die cut 5 Ms (or any letter of your choice) from the Mega Alphabet Die set. Glue these together. Using a paintbrush, paint the top of the letter and the sides using galaxy skies shimmer relief paste. Set aside to dry.
- Use the cardstock for these colors, or use the inks to color white cardstock to the colors of your choice. I used Sea glass, Ocean Waves, and Dessert Night for my large flower. For the smaller flowers, the colors used are cosmic berry and rose quartz. For the oval flowers, the colors were fuchsia and rose quartz. The leaves are shadow creek and evergreen. Die cut these using the Painted Blossoms die set.
- Assemble and glue the layers following the layering guide on the packaging.
- Stamp the “Sending Birthday Hugs” sentiment from the Sentiment Strips 3 on a skinny piece of cardstock in fuchsia.
- Glue the M (or letter) to the middle of the flourishing coral cardstock panel. Glue the flowers and leaves around the letter.
- Use foam tape to pop up the sentiment strip in the middle of the letter.
- Add iridescent gem sparkles to complete the card.
Thank you again for following along on this hop! Have a blessed day!
