For a step-by-step guide on making this cute card I created, follow the steps below.

  1. Cut a cardbase to 4.25″x5.5″ (A2 cardbase).
  2. Cut a layering panel to 4″x5.25″.
  3. Use Cloudy Sky Altenew Ink and the Deco Wallpaper Stencil as well as a large blending brush to create the background.
  4. Glue the panel to the cardbase.
  5. Stamp the outline of the smaller flower stamp from the Build-A-Garden: Rosa Gallica stamp set. I like to stamp mine with Altenew Permanent Black Ink or any black ink that doesn’t smear when blending. Allow time to dry.
  6. Stamp the You sentiment with Dark Night ink.
  7. Using the layering stencils in this coordinating set, align the first layer of the rose and blend with Cloudy Sky ink.
  8. Use the next part of the stencils to ink the leaves in Coastal Haze ink.
  9. For the smaller flowers, use Dusty Rose ink and the center of the large flower, use Autumn Blaze ink.
  10. For the second layer of the large rose, blend Nimbus ink over it.
  11. The second layer of the leaves use Green Onyx ink and blend over it. This will color the green on the small flowers as well as the center of the large rose.
  12. For the third layer of the large rose, blend Dark Night over it.
  13. Let the ink dry, then die cut this large flower using the coordinating die.
  14. Die cut the You sentiment, then die cut 4 more pieces using the same die. Glue all five You pieces together, with the stamped You on the top. This will create dimension without using dimensional tape.
  15. Add dimensional tape to the back of the rose. Remove the release paper and place at the bottom left corner of the card.
  16. Stamp the “Are a blessing” sentiment on the card panel using Dark Night ink.
  17. Glue the You stacked sentiment above the “Are a blessing” sentiment.
  18. To complete the card, add the dark blue gems from the Altenew Nebula Gemstones.

This was an easy and fast card to make that comes with dimension! If you don’t need dimension, you could always make this as a flat layered card. Be creative with the color combos. I chose the blues for the theme of this hope, but added a little pop of color with the small flowers.
